Libraries Rock!

Rock out at the Indian River Area Library all summer long! There will be fun programming for all ages and chances to win great prizes all summer long. We will have story time, crafts, karaoke, movie nights and more. Check out the events page for a full schedule of events!

Please, only one program per participant. Only items recorded between the summer reading Kick-off Date, June 16th, and the summer reading wrap up, August 18th, will be counted. Check out the break down below to see how you can participate!

Read-to-Me Program

You don’t have to be able to read to join in the fun! The Read-to-Me program is for any child not yet ready to read on their own. Rather than logging the books, the child reads the parent will log the books they read to the child. This program is a great opportunity to support early literacy and love of reading from a young age.

How it works

Parents complete this form here or stop by the library to pick up a paper sign up sheet. When they sign up, they set a goal for how many books they are going to read to their child this summer. They will be given a reading log or can print one off here. When they are one quarter, half-way, three quarters and finished with their reading goal they can stop in the library with their child to pick up a prize. All families who complete their goal by the wrap-up party August 18th will also be entered into drawings for even bigger prizes!

Reading Rock Stars Program

If you can read this you are a reading rock star! This program is targeted at readers under the age of 10. This program helps to prevent the summer slide and gets children excited about reading all year round!

How it works
